Fuerteventura of the Canary Islands, Spain

Canary Islands is one of my dream destinations. I think it's as great as the exotic places we have here in the Philippines, only this one is in Spain! Woot! Two of Canary Islands' best places are Tenerife (which I've shared with you on a previous post), and Fuerteventura.  Fuerteventura is one of those magnificent Canary Islands in Spain. It' actually the second largest, next to Tenerife, which was declared by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve  on May 26, 2009. Anyone who wishes to experience its clear blue waters, white sands and azure seas, you just need to book your flights to fuerteventura and before you know it, you're already there.

Here are some trivia for you about Fuerteventura:

  • From the words, "fuerte" and "ventura", you might say that the words mean "strong wind",  but really, the term was coined by its French conqueror, Jean de Bethancourt, when he described his voyage there as "tough adventure", describing the landscape of this part of the Canary Island.
  • Along the coastline of the island, you'll see plenty of boats, as well as lots of golden sand to lie back in and enjoy.
  • If beach bumming is not your thing, you can go hiking by following the walking trails scattered all over the  island, and visiting the boardwalks to view its amazing scenery
  • For animal lovers, they have a small zoo at La Lajita Oasis Park. You and your family can go on a camel safari adventure! And if somehow, you suddenly miss the hustle and bustle of the city life, you can always visit their gorgoeus village. They have a church, a windmill and lots of places to eat at.

This part of the Canary islands is indeed a great place to visit to relax, unwind, enjoy and have fun. Book your flights to Fuerteventura and experience for yourself what it's all about.
