Get awed by the luminescence of the Hagukan Cave.
After we swam with the millions of stingless jellyfish at the Jellyfish Lagoon, we explored the first of two magnificent caves that Sohoton Cove has to offer, the Hagukan Cave. It came from the root word "Haguk" which means "snore". This is because the cave emits a snoring sound as the waves splash and enter the opening of this dark yet luminescent cavern, hence, the word hagukan.
That's Peter, getting off our boat , before entering Hagukan Cave.
That's Peter again swimming in dark yet luminescent waters of Hagukan Cave.
The greenish luminescence inside the cave is a reflection of the greenery outside surrounding Sohoton Cove. It's totally dark inside the cave but once you swim underwater, you'll be surrounded with this glowing green light. It feels kind of magical for some reason, like we're trapped in the world of Aquaman or something. Teehee.
That's me, enjoying the green light all around.
I can't believe how dark and deep the water is yet our camera was still able to take a shot, all thanks to Hagukan Cave's luminescence.
We stayed there for several minutes, careful not to touch the barnacles surrounding the cave. Our boatmen urged us to wear our life vest so it'll be easier to stay afloat once inside.
Here are some videos we took while inside Hagukan Cave.
That's Peter happily swimming around...
Look at all those sharp barnacles and the little entryway to Hagukan Cave
Next stop is Magkukuob Cave.
To be continued...

Hi Jowana,
I've made friends with people in Siargao but not exactly in Sohoton Cove. Anyway, when you go there naman, you can always ask the resort you're staying at for boat packages to Sohoton. Actually, baka sila pa ang lumapit sayo para alukin ka. :)
