Sunrise at Potipot Island

Early the next morning, we woke up a few minutes before sunrise. It was cold and breezy, so I got our C-2 mini-tent and sat there while we waited for the sun to take a peek by the mountains...

It was such a beautiful sunny morning. We noticed that some people were already frolicking in the cool waters. As for us, we couldn't wait to explore Potipot Island some more like we promised ourselves the previous day. And so, our
journey began...

Potipot Island Camping Adventure

This travelogue is a continuation of my previous Potipot blog post. For all posts about the island, please click the link below:

Finally, at past 3 in the afternoon on April 11, we arrived at Potipot island. We were both surprised by the number of people camping and swimming in the area. We didn't expect this and it made us both feel a bit down. It was only later in the aftenoon that we found out about Potipot Island having recently been featured on TV, no wonder people were so gung ho to explore it.

We surveyed the beach for a little while hoping to find a nice place to set up our tent. Unfortunately, there was no better spot than the first one we saw, which was between a big group of friends lounging under the tree on our right, and another huge group of friends camping on our left. So that's that. As cramped as it felt, I didn't allow it to ruin our weekend together.

How to Get to Potipot Island in Zambales

The weekend after Holy Week, April 10-11, 2010, Peter and I explored an amazing island in Uacon, Candelaria, Zambales. It's called Potipot Island. The island has fine, white sand, with turquoise blue waters. It's so perfect for a romantic getaway and so ideal for camping. I don't have the time right now to divulge all the details about this wonderful island (coz it usually takes me 4 hours to create 1 travel blog post, hours that I can't afford to spend on blogging at the moment) so here's showing you one of my favorite shots. Watch out for my upcoming blog post about Potipot Island. Coming soon!
