Buri Resort and Spa - Answer to My Prayer

This was the exact room I was provided with during my stay!

God works in mysterious ways and he does answer our prayers whether we see it or not. In my case, with my work being home-based, and myself being home alone most of the time (if I'm not traveling), I do get lonely. Usually, this feeling of loneliness is manageable but there comes a time, like a few days after my bessy Hanz went back to Cebu and I was missing him a lot, that I felt really sad. The pain in my heart was so palpable like I couldn't breathe. So I talked to God and told him that I can't live like this... I don't want to be by myself all the time; I need some semblance of social life (love life if possible!). But most, if not all of my friends, are busy with kids, families and careers. And the current object of my affection is miles away. Then I remember what I learned from Rhonda Byrne's The Secret before, that I don't have to know nor see how my wishes will be granted, but that I should just believe that it will happen in God's own time. And true enough, the universe opened its doors the moment it saw that I was ready. 

Aguirangan Island, Caramoan: Bicol - Caramoan Adventure Series Day 3

I can't believe I'm blogging for three days straight now. I'm on fire! LOL! Unfortunately, I haven't been sleeping much which is bad. I guess something has got to give if I want to continue blogging. I can't just give up my work nor my time with my Bes Hanz nor my role as a wife, right? If only we can have more than 24 hours in a day... Anyway, I also just want to finish as many posts as I can since I promised myself that I'll finish my travelogues before the year ends and I still have so many. Plus, I'm not so sure if there'd be wifi at the 2012 International Youth Seminar on Life and Ch'an in Taiwan. The first week (July 18-25) is jampacked with seminars, activities and tours, while the second week (July 26-Aug. 3) will be devoted to a lot of meditation.

Yep, you read it right. I went sunbathing in La Union together with our friends instead of doing what I naturally loved to do there before — surfing.

 

Camiguin, The Island of Fire (Part I)

To officially welcome summer, I’d like to do a feature on Camiguin, a quaint little island north of Mindanao, which I’m very fond of. The very  first time I’ve been there was when I was six years old.  My grandmother and I used to visit the place when she was still serving as the Dep.Ed. Superintendent of the region. It didn’t really change that much over the years. The air is still fresh, the people are still as friendly and the sites are still as breathtaking as I remember them to be.

The island is said to be born of fire because of its seven (seven!) volcanoes. Had I not seen hardened  lava rocks all over the island, I would not have believed it to be so. How freakishly awesome, right?

  Inside the Marina while waiting for our boat

The receptionist at Davao Museum gave me the number of the resort that books day trips to Pearl Farm. So I called them up and asked for the details. The trip would cost P1500 each inclusive of boat transfers from Marina to Pearl Farm, welcome drinks, buffet lunch at the resort, free island hopping, shuttle tour of the resort and use of swimming facilities. Not bad!

The next day, we woke up early and headed to Marina by 7am. Boat will leave at 8am and we didn’t want to be late. While waiting, we took lots of pictures and chilled a bit in their lounge. Finally, we were on the boat on the way to Pearl Farm. The ride only took about 45 minutes and the waters weren’t chopppy at all. We were really excited!

Costa Aguada Resort in Guimaras

It’s just been three months ago since we last experienced this piece of paradise and now, it’s being damaged by an oil spill at a very alarming rate. I don’t wanna discuss the details of the damage. It’s too depressing. I know a lot of environmental groups are doing something to help solve this pollution problem and even our President formed a task force to specifically address this oil spill issue. I don’t know how I can help. I’ve got so much in my hands and I don’t have the skill to do some technical oil cleaning or whatever they call it. All I can do is to show you how beautiful this paradise once was and perhaps someone out there with more resources  will be inspired to help in a more concrete manner.
