New Year, New Me! My Resolution for 2015 and Beyond!

Happy New Year, everyone! Even after the Three Kings and the celebration of the Black Nazarene have gone by, it still feels like the first day of the new year for me. Hehehe.

So, how did the first 12 days of the new year treat you so far? I hope this year of the sheep is turning out the way you wanted it to be, or if not, I hope you're all coping very well and getting yourself ready for all the blessings and challenges that lie ahead.

As for me, it really didn't happen the way I planned it to be. Well, come to think of it, my entire life, though a blessing with everything I have achieved and accomplished, didn't really happen as planned. But I won't bore you with all the details. (If you're an old reader / follower of mine, you'd know what I'm talking about). Let's just focus on the past two weeks. Teehee. ;)

Early Christmas for the Juans

So how was your Halloween and the second long weekend that followed? I've been off the grid for some time after our Halloween Party, and it's all because of the "early Christmas" season we've been experiencing at home. To think I haven't even put up our Christmas decors yet and I'm not even sure if I'm gonna put them up at all. Unlike Halloween, Christmas is now my least favorite holiday season so I'm not that motivated to waste electricity and money on Christmas lights and decors... but who knows, maybe I will. Teehee.

So what is this "early Christmas" season I'm talking about? You probably know this already if we're friends on Facebook, Twitter and Plurk but here it is again:

It's all coming back, it's all coming back to me now...

I just spent 30 minutes crying inside our bedroom while Peter watches Friends reruns downstairs. He doesn't know... yet.

A heavy feeling descended on my chest right after our village utility guy paid us a visit at home to announce about this village Christmas party that we'll be having tomorrow. My first thought was "Oh no..."

Then I went upstairs, told Peter about it, told him to give the guy some sort of donation that the village is asking for and just tell him we won't be home tomorrow. Then I went to the bathroom, washed my face, went to bed and just started crying. I mean, when and how did I become like this?! I used to love Christmas and I used to throw Christmas parties when I was a kid!

I remember as early as eight years old, I would organize a Christmas party in our village, I'd wrap gifts for my neighbors and even buy food and prepare sandwiches and juice. I did this until summer of my freshman year in high school. What happened to me? How did I become this jaded and screwed?

Oh.... oh.... then I began remembering.

I'm Too Lazy to Blog So Here's a Video Blog Instead. Merry Christmas!

Below are three videos we took on Christmas eve... nothing fancy... just being real. I also wanted to baptize Peter's gift for me --- a GE DV1 HD camcorder. ^_^

Christmas 2010 Musings

Peter has been enjoying his state of blissful unemployment for over a month now. He's been boating, skin diving, island hopping, chillaxing, and basically doing nothing but sleep, eat, make love and vegetate. Oh, he helps out with the house chores too! This means, he seldom experiences traffic and the usual Christmas hoolabaloo. Me, I've been enjoying that state for three years now. I just feel lucky to have retired early and just enjoy life traveling, doing some personal projects, and what-nots.

Anyway, the point is, Christmas and the stress it brings to many people (aside from the usual good tidings they say it also gives) is our least favorite season of the year. It used to be my top three, after Halloween and summer, but now, I'd rather have the rainy season than Christmas. Plus, Peter never really liked it. It depresses the hell out of him. Come to think of it, it used to depress me a lot too, even as a child.
