Joel Disini says i.ph is shutting down soon

Peter and I were enjoying our time together one afternoon. While window shopping for kayaks and hobie cats somewhere here in Alabang, we saw Mr. Joel Disini, the man behind i.ph, shopping for a two-seater kayak.

This was the second time I met him in person. The first time was last year in Enchanted Kingdom.

Peter and Mr. Joel Disini

Anyway, he and Peter got to talking while I scrutinized a lovely inflatable kayak I liked. It was priced at Php125,000 and I'm thinking of including this on my vision board. Hehehe.

When Mr. Disini turned to me, he mentioned that he's a reader of my main blog, sexynomad.i.ph. Unfortunately, he said that he will be closing down i.ph soon so it would be best for me to start copy pasting all my posts and blog files. I couldn't believe it. He said i.ph is no longer making profit and he's giving us bloggers around 6 months before it fully shuts down. I've heard of this news before from Ade Magnaye but I thought it was just a phase or an issue that will soon die down. Unfortunately, I was wrong. :(

I've been slowly transferring my sexnomad.i.ph posts to this blog since last year. It's quite a tedious process, one that I would love to delegate to an assistant but because this is my personal blog we're talking about, I'd rather do it myself.

I have another i.ph blog, bookworm.i.ph and today, I was able to transfer all my posts there to my new book blog imasexybookworm.blogspot.com. It was tiring but I had to do it.

It's really sad. The blog platform i.ph could've been a very profitable venture for Mr. Disini. But what can we do? I've been blogging there since 2006 and it's really heartbreaking for me to see everything gone so soon.

So don't be surprised if you start seeing duplicate posts appearing here on this blog. I'm slowly copy pasting everything from i.ph to .com, taking it one day at a time. Hopefully, before the six months are up, I can peacefully let go of my old blog. Good bye i.ph. My heart is bleeding but I must let you go.

that is very sad indeed. my ex-wife's blog was on i.ph too. I hope they can resurrect the business and have everything going back the way they were

Hi Arpee,

That may be one New Year wish I have that I feel won't be coming true. :(

I hope your wife gets to copy all her i.ph blog files before the system shuts down.

I used to work with Peter Juan at dotPH, a company owned by Joel Disini.
